ABOUT THE DRAGONS
Founded in 2010, the Brunswick Junior Football Club has grown from one team in our first season to 14 in 2023. We have over 300 children from ages 7 to 18 playing in girls, boys and mixed formats.
Our club is one of 32 community junior football clubs competing in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL). The YJFL is the largest standalone junior league in Australia.
Within each age group, teams are graded to ensure teams compete against other teams with commensurate skill levels and abilities. Our teams play on Sunday, with home games played at Gillon Oval, Ransford Oval and Clifton Park West (U8–U12). Away games are at various locations across the east, north and northeast regions of Melbourne.
We are extremely proud of our achievements in our short history. We have won five premierships and have had players go on to play at the highest level, including Krstel Petrevski (currently playing with West Coast) and Francis Evans (currently playing with Port Adelaide). Special mention to Brunswick Dragons players who have won premierships playing under permit for Fitzroy: Chloe Haritopoulos, Ellie Sbeghen and Ella Robbins in 2022 in Youth Girl Division 1 and Fred Culham in 2023 in Youth Boys Division 1.

UNDER 12's PREMIERSHIP This highly talented group included current male club games record holder, club life member and current AFL player (with Geelong 2021-2022 & Port Adelaide 2023), Francis Evans, and three-time YJFL Best and Fairest winner (along with a 2nd and 3rd place on the trophy shelf) Daniel Mott.

COLTS PREMIERSHIP Our Colts team demolished the home and away seasons with 13 wins from their 14 games, and included the talented YJFL 2019 Colts Best and Fairest winner, Aaron Tsarouhas.

UNDER 13 PURPLE PREMIERSHIP Our U13s were ably led by YJFL B&F 2nd place getter, club B&F winner, Riley Wilton, and YJFL representative players, Cristian Athanasopoulos and Ruben Powell.

UNDER 16's PREMIERSHIP Our U16 premiers also had a great year, and included YJFL Best and Fairest winner Samuel McIlroy and YJFL representative squad member Jonah Allen.
